:: Games - Mirror's Edge ::

Joguinho bom esse! Bem feitinho, não é um jogo pesado (pelo menos rodou tranquilamente na minha NVidia 9600GT). Trilha sonora bem feitinha, empolga o cara. O mais animal mesmo é a injeção de adrenalina quando o cara tem que fugir da "cana". Viadagens à parte, me senti a própria Trinity fugindo dos Agents no filme Matrix.

Pra quem não sabe do que o game se trata... bom, é baseado naquele novo esporte, Parkour, onde a personagem principal, Faith, é uma Runner. Na época que o game se passa o governo controla todas as comunicações, espiona tudo e tal. Sendo assim a única forma "segura" de comunicação é através dos runners, que são mensageiros que vão "na pernada" fazer as entregas. Só que não é simplesmente andar/correr pelas ruas. O negócio é pular sobre os prédios, pendurar-se em hastes, canos, etc. A questão é a que a polícia anda de olho nos runners, ou seja, se eles vêem um runner, o pau pega.

Só lamento o jogo ser curto. Sim, achei razoavelmente curto. Ah, tem um esqueminha pro cara jogar em 3rd person, mas eu não aconselho, pois é escroto pra controlar. aaaah lembrei. Outro ponto negativo do jogo é que não dá pra usar qualquer gamepad/joypad. Dizem que o controle do XBox360 rola legal no PC e o game detecta. Qualquer outro, esquece. Mas... deixo aqui a dica para usarem o xpadder para mapear seu gamepad para teclado/mouse e ser feliz. Eu terminei o game jogando no tecladão mesmo hehehehe

Fica aí a dica. Na sequência vou falar do game que comecei a jogar após a Faith me abandonar hehehehe

:: PC - MSI Wind U100 ::

Aaaaah pois então! Fui no Mercado Livre e resolvi comprar um netbook pra mim. Um MSI Wind U100. Sim é minúsculo, mas a idéia é usar para trabalho e/ou quando eu for ficar muito tempo longe de casa.

Porém, o viadinho que estava vendendo o "bagulho" até agora não o enviou. Então hoje, pela primeira vez, tive que negar a liberação do pagamento para alguém no ML. Bom... "ossos de benito" (quem não entendeu a piada é porque não assistia Chaves ahahahhahahaa).

Fora isso... estou preparando minha última partição para entrar no mundo da encriptação (leu o outro post? Ah, não leu porque estava em inglês? hmmmm gayzinho você não?). Como tenho muita porcaria nesta partição... vou ter que teletransportar essa tralha toda para outros lugares... pra daí mandar a partição pro vinagre, encriptar e daí sim puxar tudo de volta. Vai dar trabalho.. mas valerá a pena.

Coisa de geek/nerd mesmo ;) Mas não, continuo sem ter que temer a RIAA ou o FBI, não se preocupem.

Pois é, pois é... quem seria minha primeira "vítima" da encriptação acabou "se escapando". A ordem seria netbook, then desktop. Agora a coisa ficou invertida hehehehe

:: Linux - Disk encryption ::

No, I don't fear the FBI, RIAA or any other crap like that. Why not? As far as I know I have nothing to hide. However, I don't like the idea of somone stealing my computer (unfortunately that could happen) and then getting access to the data inside of it. Do I have any "sex tape" saved there? Am I a pedophile? Have I stolen software from someone? NO! The answer is NO to ALL THOSE QUESTIONS. I just don't want MY stuff flying around. All data I decide is worth sharing, I share. The rest, is mine.

I wouldn't like to see pictures of my family floating around the net. "ah, but you posted some of you pictures here and there". Yes, I did! But I chose only a few pictures to be posted, NOT ALL OF THEM.

That said....

Starting yesterday I began to play with disk encryption. I already use file encryption, but disk encryption is something totally... bigger. With the "little" help of some documentation I did the job just fine. Which docs? This and this. Following those, I got my whole hard drive encrypted. It was pretty easy. I won't get into details because those docs are too damn easy to understand. Once again, thanks alienBOB for writing them. And thanks toledo for the tips you gave me.

I was planing to write more on the subject, but since I have a little boy on my lap (my son), I just can't right now.

:: Away? ::

Quite a bit, yes. I was on vacation. Spent some days at home, then we traveled to the beach. It was very nice, but there wasn't much to be reported here. Only that I, as a good represetant of the Nerd World, took some time using my brother-in-law's notebook to access Coruscant and then to command it to download lots of stuff I am enjoying now that I am no longer on vacation :P

Later I will post about some movies I watched. Oh, I do hope Hallen will come around and post. And... I will be posting in Portuguese too, since my english speaking friends haven't been around as much as I believed they would. When I think the post is really important to both my worlds, I might post in both languages.

Oh well, I wish I had money to buy one of those MSI Wind netbooks :( Oh, but if a very NICE SOUL wants to give me one, please don't be shy. I promise I will run ONLY LINUX on it :D

And on the game side of the moon, I am thinking about trying the new Prince of Persia and Mirror's Edge.
